Several women's colleges are among the best liberal arts institutions in the country. If you have experiences connected to these top colleges, please share them here to help out the prospective students who visit the College Admissions site. Share Your Thoughts

The College of New Rochelle

Why no Catholic colleges on the list? CNR is the first Catholic college in NYS. Alumna/e include judges, Emmy-award winning actresses, ambassadors, CEO's. The campus is gorgeous and a short train ride to NYC. Add to that a $28MM Wellness Center and a well connected alumnae network

Saint Mary's College?

I was certain that Saint Mary's College of Notre Dame would be on this list of colleges, but it isn't. Its academic excellence, historic beauty and character, and ties to Notre Dame is unique and unmatched by most of these alleged "top" colleges.

Swellesley rules!

Wellesley College is the best of them all by far. It is simply a superior education with world-renown faculty and a stunning campus and lake to boot!

Judson College missing

I attend Judson College in Marion, AL. It is an amazing women's college and was recently ranked in the top 20 liberal arts colleges chosen by high school guidance couselors. We have an outstanding pre-med program with a 100% acceptance rate into top ranked medical schools. Our equestrian program has the largest covered arena in the southeast. I'm a religion major, so I can personally vouch for that department. Judson is excellent and well-rounded and should definitely be in the running for this list.

Columbia College missing

The school that I will be attending in less than two weeks is not on here. It is Columbia College in Columbia, SC. It has a beautiful campus and the academics are top-notch. The teachers really care about you. To me, this should have really been on the list for historical purposes also since General Sherman's troops were about to burn it down if it was unoccupied. It is also one of the oldest women's college in the United States.

important schools missing

Mills college in Oakland,Ca is an amazing women's liberal arts school. Small student/professor ratio, specialized programs for academic success, encouraging environment for all things artistic, and the faculty is amazing. Also, Spelman college in Atlanta should most definitely be added to this list. I am little skeptical to ask why it isn't already included seeing as how it is one of the most well known historically black colleges.

best women's colleges

My daughter attends Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. She is majoring in theater arts with a minor in dance. Stephens student run theater program has been ranked in Princeton's Review's top ten for the last 5 years. Stephens owns their own theater in Obojobi, Iowa, where their theater students beginning their junior years, spend 8 weeks of their summers performing a total of 10 different plays. Because of its intensive theater program, Stephens students are able to fulfill the requirements of a 4 year B.F.A. degree in just 3 years, which includes 2 summer programs. I believe that Stephens College for women has been vastly overlooked in college rankings. Is Stephens even being considered in these rankings?
