The good news for students hoping to go to college in Kansas is that none of the state's many public and private colleges and universities has overly selective admissions. A student who got decent grades in high school and average SAT scores should be able to get admitted to any of the Kansas colleges or universities. To help you determine if your test scores are on target for your top choice Kansas schools, the table below can help guide you. The SAT scores in the table are for the middle 50% of enrolled students. If your scores fall within or above these ranges, you're on target for admission to one of these Kansas colleges. If your scores are slightly below the range presented in the table, don't lose all hope -- remember that 25% of enrolled students have SAT scores below those listed.

It's also important to put the SAT in perspective. The exam is just one part of the application, and a strong academic record is even more important than test scores. Some of the colleges will also be looking for a winning essay, meaningful extracurricular activities and good letters of recommendation.

Note that several of the schools do not have SAT data posted. This is because the ACT is much more popular than the SAT in Kansas, and for many schools over 90% of applicants submit ACT scores, not SAT scores. You can use this SAT / ACT conversion chart and the ACT version of the table below to get a rough idea of how your SAT scores measure up.
