Learn about our Editorial Process Updated on March 18, 2020 Despite its large landmass, Arizona does not have a lot of four-year non-profit colleges and universities. Arizona State and University of Arizona, however, are both a couple of the larger public universities in the country. You'll also find a few options for smaller colleges. To see if your SAT scores are in line for admission, the table below can help guide you. If your scores fall within (or above) the ranges listed below, you are on target for admission to these schools. Notice that no Arizona colleges have overly selective admissions. The scores in the table above are for the middle 50% of enrolled students. If your scores fall within or above these ranges, you're on track for admission to one of these Arizona colleges. If your scores are slightly below the range presented in the table, don't lose all hope -- remember that 25% of enrolled students have SAT scores below those listed. Also remember that SAT scores are just one part of the application. These Arizona colleges will also want to see a strong academic record, and some will be looking for a winning essay, meaningful extracurricular activities and good letters of recommendation. In some cases, a student with high scores may be rejected if the rest of his/her application is weak. And, a student with lower scores (but a strong application) may be admitted. The schools with no scores listed may still accept SAT and/or ACT scores. If they are test-optional, students are, in some cases, still encouraged to submit their scores--especially if they are fairly high. Be sure to check each school's admissions requirements, to see if you should submit scores as part of your application, even if it's not a requirement. To visit a profile for each school, just click on the school's name in the table above. There, you can find more admissions information, financial aid data, and other helpful statistics and facts.
