Delaware has just a handful of four-year non-profit colleges and universities, but those schools provide some excellent options for students with varying degrees of college preparation. Admissions standards range from the fairly selective University of Delaware to a few schools that accept nearly all applicants. The side-by-side comparison chart below shows ACT scores for the middle 50% of matriculated students. If your scores fall within or above these ranges, you're on target for admission. If your scores are a little below the bottom number, keep in mind that 25% of enrolled students have scores below those listed.
Keep ACT scores in perspective. The admissions officers are generally more interested in seeing a strong academic record than high test scores. Some schools may also take into consideration your application essay, extracurricular activities and letters of recommendation. Factors such as legacy status and demonstrated interest can also make a difference.
Note that the SAT is much more popular in Delaware than the ACT, and that's why Wesley College does not post ACT data. To get a sense of how your ACT scores measure up to SAT scores, use this SAT-ACT conversion table.
