Realize, of course, that SAT scores are just one part of the application. The admissions officers at these Georgia colleges will also want to see a strong academic record, a winning essay, meaningful extracurricular activities and good letters of recommendation.

You may find that some applicants with strong grades and scores were not admitted, while students with lower scores and grades were accepted. If an applicant's application is strong (but his/her scores below average), they still have a chance of being admitted. Likewise, an applicant with good grades but a weak application may be rejected or waitlisted. Remember that 25% of enrolled students at these school had scores lower than the ranges listed here. So, if your scores are low, it's possible to still get in to any of these great schools.

If you have time, it is possible to retake the SAT. You can submit your application with your original scores, and then, once your new scores are reported, you can resubmit those (hopefully higher) scores. Be sure to check with the admissions office to make sure they allow this.
