The Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University is a four-year, public university made up of eight colleges and a graduate school. Located in Blacksburg, Virginia, Virginia Tech is a huge school in both acreage and student population. The campus has over 125 buildings on 2,600 acres, and the 31,000 students are supported by a 16 to 1 student / faculty ratio. The university offers a total of 150 master's and doctoral degree programs, as well as 65 bachelor's programs.
