The University of California, Irvine is a public research university within the University of California system. Located in Southern California near Newport Beach, UCI was founded in 1965 and is the fifth-largest UC campus, with 28,000 students currently enrolled. The school is consistently ranked among the top universities in the nation.

UCI's school colors are blue and gold, and its mascot is Peter the Anteater.
