Perhaps Alfred University's most iconic building, the Steinheim has a rich history. The building's construction began in 1875 as a private residence for an AU professor, but soon the castle changed hands and became a natural history museum and classroom. Today, after a major expansion and renovation, the building houses the university's Career Development Center.
