The Northeast Conference is an NCAA Division I athletic conference with members coming from the northeastern United States -- Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Rhode Island. The conference headquarters are located in Somerset, New Jersey. The twelve members are mostly small to mid-sized private universities, and several are affiliated with the Catholic church. 1. Bryant University
Founded in 1863, Bryant University today is one of the top-rated master's universities in the North. The 420-acre campus is located northwest of Providence. 2. Central Connecticut State University
Founded in 1849, CCSU, Central Connecticut State University's 165-acre campus is located just 15 minutes from the state capital of Hartford. The university has a 16 to 1 student / faculty ratio. 3. Fairleigh Dickinson University, Metropolitan Campus
Fairleigh Dickinson University has four campuses -- two in New Jersey, one in England and a new facility in Vancouver, British Columbia -- making it the largest private university in New Jersey.
