Founded in 1854, Wofford College is a private liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Wofford's 170-acre campus is a designated National Historic District, and it was recently designated as the Roger Milliken Arboretum. The college has an 11 to 1 student / faculty ratio, and students can choose from 26 majors. Wofford's strengths in the liberal arts and sciences earned it a chapter of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. In athletics, the Wofford Terriers compete in the NCAA Division I Southern Conference.
