Wittenberg University's 114-acre campus is located in Springfield, Ohio, a small city between Dayton and Columbus. Since its founding in 1845, the university has been affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Despite its name as a "university," Wittenberg has an undergraduate focus and a liberal arts curriculum. The school has a 12 to 1 student / faculty ratio, and students can choose from over 60 academic programs. The school's strengths in the liberal arts and sciences earned it a chapter of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Student life at Wittenberg is active -- students have more than 150 organizations in which they can participate, and the campus has an active Fraternity and Sorority system. In athletics, the Wittenberg Tigers compete in the NCAA Division III North Coast Athletic Conference.
