William Jewell College Description:

William Jewell College is a private liberal arts college located in Liberty, Missouri, a town just outside of Kansas City. Founded in 1849, the college was affiliated with the Missouri Baptist Convention for much of its history. In recent years the college has split from the church while maintaining many of its Christian values. William Jewell has an 10 to 1 student / faculty ratio and ranks well nationally among liberal arts colleges. Business and nursing are the most popular undergraduate majors. In athletics, the William Jewell College Cardinals competed in the NAIA Heart of America Conference until 2010 with a shift to the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) in 2011. Popular sports include football, basketball, track and field, tennis, and cross country.
