Located in Ogden, Utah, Weber State University's 500-acre campus is nestled among the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. The large public university has a 21 to 1 student / faculty ratio and the majority of classes have under 30 students. Weber State offers over 200 undergraduate programs of study, and professional fields in business and health are among the most popular. The majority of students live off campus, but the university has over 100 student clubs and organizations. On the athletic front, the Weber State Wildcats compete in the NCAA Division I Big Sky Conference. The university fields 13 intercollegiate sports.

Acceptance Rate

Weber State University has open admissions and is test-optional. Students who have earned a high school diploma or the equivalent are guaranteed admission if they submit a completed application.

SAT Scores and Requirements

Although Weber State University is test-optional and does not require SAT scores, the university will consider scores if submitted. Also, scores can be used for advising and placement purposes. So few students who enroll at Weber State take the SAT that no data is available on average scores. The ACT is the nearly universally more popular exam for the university.

Although Weber State does not publish SAT score data, you can compare your scores to the SAT scores of other Idaho colleges.

ACT Scores and Requirements

The ACT is far more popular than the SAT for Weber State University applicants. During the 2019-20 admissions cycle, 89% of applicants submitted ACT scores.

This admissions data tells us that most of Weber State University's admitted students fall within the top 59% nationally on the ACT. The middle 50% of students admitted to Weber State received a composite ACT score between 18 and 24, while 25% scored a 24 or higher and 25% scored an 18 or lower.

Requirements

Since standardized test scores are not required when applying to Weber State University, applicants do not need to take the SAT or ACT. However, students should check to see if scores are needed for scholarships and/or NCAA athletics eligibility. Also, while scores are not required, Weber State will consider scores if submitted, and the school does recommend that students take the ACT or SAT. Students do not need to take the optional ACT writing exam.

GPA and Class Rank

Weber State University does not release high school class rank data for their students, but they do provide information about high school GPAs. 33% of matriculated students had a high school GPA of 3.75 or higher. Over half of all enrolled students—51%—had high school GPAs of 3.50 or higher. Only 7% of enrolled students had GPAs below a 2.5, so it's clear that most Weber State students have high school transcripts that are mostly A's and B's.
