Virginia Wesleyan College Description:

Virginia Wesleyan College is a private, Methodist liberal arts college in Norfolk, Virginia. The 300-acre campus is situated fifteen minutes from downtown Norfolk and right on the border of Virginia Beach in the Chesapeake Bay area, with easy access to beaches and several area sporting and cultural venues. The campus is also within an hour’s drive of Busch Gardens in Williamsburg and North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Academically, the college emphasizes its small class sizes and personalized student attention which are supported by an average class size of 14 students and a student / faculty ratio of 13 to 1. Virginia Wesleyan offers 34 undergraduate majors, 29 minors and six areas of pre-professional studies. Popular programs include business, education, biology, criminal justice and recreation and leisure studies. Student life is active as well, with over 70 clubs and organizations and 15% of students participating in Greek life. The Virginia Wesleyan Marlins compete in the NCAA Division III Old Dominion Athletic Conference in 19 varsity sports.
