University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Description:
Founded in 1868 as a teacher's college, the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater is today a comprehensive mater's level public university that offers 48 undergraduate and 12 graduate programs. The university's academic programs are supported by a 23 to 1 student / faculty ratio, and fields in business, education , and communications are among the most popular. While most students are from Wisconsin, the university is home to students come from 43 states and 43 countries. The 404-acre main campus is located about an hour west of Milwaukee, and students will find lots to do in city of Whitewater and the surrounding parks and natural areas. Campus life is active with a wide range of student organizations, performances, and athletic events. The UW-Whitewater Warhawks compete in the NCAA Division III Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The university fields nine men's and eleven women's Division III sports.
