The University of Wisconsin at La Crosse is a highly ranked public university and one of the 13 four-year universities in the University of Wisconsin System. La Crosse students come from 37 states and 44 countries. The university occupies a 119-acre campus in the scenic 7 Rivers Region on the Upper Mississippi River. Undergraduates can choose from 88 degree programs that are supported by a 21 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 26 students. Biology, business, health, education, and psychology are among the most popular areas of study. Student life is active with a wide range of student clubs and organizations. For students interested in athletics, the UW-La Crosse Eagles compete in the NCAA Division III Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The university fields eight men's and nine women's intercollegiate sports.
