University of West Georgia Description:
Established in 1906, the University of West Georgia is a comprehensive university located in Carrollton, Georgia. Downtown Atlanta is about 50 miles away. Undergraduates have 59 programs from which to chose with preprofessional fields in nursing, education and business being some of the most popular. Students with strong GPAs, SAT scores or ACT scores should look into the Honors College which offers a curriculum with more emphasis on research and student initiative. On the student life front, the University of West Georgia is home to over 100 student organizations including a substantial fraternity and sorority system. In athletics, the UWG Wolves compete in the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference.
