University of North Carolina School of the Arts Description:

The Univeristy of North Carolina School of the Arts is a public conservatory for the arts located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The school first opened in 1965 as the North Carolina School of the Arts, and today it is an internationally recognized arts conservatory and part of the University of North Carolina system. The application includes an audition/interview as well as the usual academic record and recommendations. UNCSA is small and focused, so prospective students should be certain that they want to explore one of UNCSA's five areas of specialization: dance, design and production, drama, filmmaking or music.
