University of New England Description:

Founded in 1831, the University of New England has two primary locations -- a 540-acre campus in Biddeford, Maine, and a 41-acre campus on the outskirts of Portland. The Biddeford campus is home to the College of Arts and Sciences while the Portland campus houses the College of Pharmacy and the Westbrook College of Health Professions. The Biddeford campus has over 4,000 feet of ocean front property. Undergraduates can choose from more than 30 majors, and the university has notable strengths in biological and health-related fields. Academics are supported by a 17 to 1 student / faculty ratio. In athletics, the UNE Nor'easters compete in the NCAA Division III Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). The university fields six men's and eight women's intercollegiate sports.
