University of Central Missouri Description:

Founded in 1871, the University of Central Missouri is located on a 1,561-acre campus in the town of Warrensburg, Missouri. Kansas City is about 50 miles to the northwest. 88% of UCM students are Missouri residents. Students can choose from 150 programs of study, and professional fields in business, nursing, criminal justice, and education are among the most popular with undergraduates. Academics at UCM are supported by a 17 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 23. Outside of the classroom, students can join a number of clubs and organizations, including academic groups, recreational clubs, and performing arts groups. On the athletic front, the UCM Mules and Jennies compete in the NCAA Division II Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). The university fields 16 intercollegiate teams. Popular sports include track and field, football, golf, soccer, and basketball.
