University of Arkansas Fort Smith Admissions Overview:

Students will need to submit an application along with high school transcripts. Applicants are also required to submit test scores from either the SAT/ACT or Compass/Accuplacer. The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith is a public liberal arts university located in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The 168-acre campus in Western Arkansas sits just a few miles from the border of Oklahoma. The campus includes an award-winning arboretum that houses nearly 2,000 trees representing more than 80 species. The campus was once named the best maintained landscape in the nation for the renowned arboretum. Academics at the university have a strong focus on educating students to better serve the regional business and industrial community. In addition to nearly 20 associate’s degrees and a variety of technical and industry training programs, UAFS offers more than 30 bachelor’s degree programs, with popular majors in business administration, early childhood education, nursing and history. Students are strongly encouraged to stay involved on campus; there are currently more than 80 active student clubs and organizations, ranging from academic-based clubs to performing arts groups to honor societies. On the athletic front, the UAFS Lions compete in the NCAA Division II Heartland Conference. Popular sports include Basketball, Golf, Tennis, and Track and Field.
