University of Alaska Southeast Admissions Overview:

The University of Alaska Southeast has an acceptance rate of 49%, but the admissions bar isn't overly high. Students with decent grades in a college preparatory curriculum have a good chance of being admitted to the school. UAS is test-optional, so students are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores, although it is encouraged for all applicants. Along with an application, prospective students will need to submit official high school transcripts. Check out UAS's website for complete information and deadlines.

University of Alaska Southeast Description:

The University of Alaska Southeast is a public university with a main campus in Juneau and other campuses in Ketchikan and Sitka. UAS was established in 1987 when the University of Alaska Juneau and two community colleges merged. The university offers traditional and online degree programs. The master degree program in teaching has the highest enrollments. A significant portion of students at UAS are adults continuing their educations, and nearly three-quarters of students take classes part-time. Many UAS programs take advantage of the school's stunning location with the surrounding coastal, glacial, and temperate rainforest ecosystems. Classes tend to be small, and academics are supported by a 13 to 1 student / faculty ratio. The school's location is also ideal for outdoor lovers -- hiking, climbing, camping, skiing, kayaking, fishing, and many other activities are within minutes of campus.
