Located in Jackson, Tennessee, Union University is a private university affiliated with the Southern Baptist Church. The university focuses on four core values: being excellence-driven, Christ-centered, people-focused and future-directed. Students come from 45 states and 30 countries. Academics at Union University are supported by a 12 to 1 student / faculty ratio. Nursing is the most popular undergraduate major. Student life is active with over 60 clubs and organizations including a small fraternity and sorority system. The campus features mostly new residence halls after earlier halls were destroyed in a 2008 tornado. On the athletic front, the Union Bulldogs compete in the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference.
