UNH Manchester Description:
Established in 1985 as the sixth college of the University of New Hampshire, the University of New Hampshire at Manchester is a young commuter school that caters to the needs of students in the region. Class meeting times are designed to accommodate the schedules of working students. The university is primarily a baccalaureate institution -- the university offers three associate degree programs, sixteen bachelor degree programs, and two master degree programs. Business and communication arts are most popular at the bachelor's level. Academics at UNH Manchester are supported by a 14 to 1 student / faculty ratio. The school's campus sits on the banks of the Merrimack River in New Hampshire's largest city. The main building, dating to the 19th century, was originally a machine shop in Manchester's historic millyard. Boston is just an hour south of campus.
