UMass Dartmouth Description:
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, a member of the UMass system, is a public university located in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts. The expansive 710-acre main campus sits on the south coast of the state between Providence and Newport, just minutes from the beach and an hour outside of Boston. UMass Dartmouth also has satellite campuses in nearby New Bedford and Fall River. The university has a student / faculty ratio of 17 to 1 and an average class size of 25 students. Undergraduate students can choose from 61 majors and 43 minors, and the graduate school offers 26 master’s programs and 11 doctoral degrees. Popular areas of study include the university’s bachelor’s degrees in marketing, nursing, accounting and English and graduate programs in business administration, educational leadership and law. Campus life is active with more than 90 clubs and organizations. The UMass Dartmouth Corsairs compete in the NCAA Division III Little East Conference. The university fields eleven men's and twelve women's intercollegiate sports.
