The University of Tulsa is a small, private university located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The university has gone through major transformations and moves since its original founding in 1882 as the Presbyterian School for Indian Girls. Today the university has an unusual and well-respected program in petroleum engineering, and Tulsa's strengths in the liberal arts and sciences have earned it a chapter of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Among undergraduates, many of the business fields are extremely popular. In athletics, the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes compete in the NCAA Division I Conference USA.
