Thomas College Description:

Thomas College is a small, private college located in Waterville, Maine. The Kennebec River is a couple steps away, and Colby College is a few miles north. The college has come a long way since 1894 when it first opened its doors as the Keist Business College in an upper floor of a Woolworth's store. The undergraduate curriculum provides a balance of liberal arts courses with career-specific training. Professional fields such as business, criminal justice and education are all popular. Academics at Thomas are supported by a 15 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 17. The college prides itself on the personal attention students receive, and Thomas does a good job helping students who may not have been the strongest in their high schools. 94% of Thomas graduates get a job in their field of study within three months of graduation. On the athletic front, the Thomas Terriers compete in the NCAA Division III North Atlantic Conference. The college fields six men's and seven women's intercollegiate sports.
