Defiance College Admissions Overview:

Defiance has a 58% acceptance rate, making it accessible to the majority of applicants. Students are encouraged to visit the campus, take a tour of the school, and meet with a counselor from the admissions office. To apply, those interested will have to submit a completed application, standardized test scores (SAT and ACT), and a high school transcript. Defiance College Description:

Located on a 150-acre campus in a residential area of Defiance, Ohio, Defiance College is a small college affiliated with the United Church of Christ. Originally founded in 1850 as a female seminary, Defiance has since gone on to become a four-year college with graduate programs in business and education. Academics are supported by a 13 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of about 15 students, so DC students get personalized attention from their professors. Defiance states one of its goals is to engage its students on the civic, cultural, and learning fronts. Supporting this mission, the school houses the McMaster School for Advancing Humanity, a research program dedicated to improving the condition for all humans. Student life is active with a range of clubs, performance groups, fraternities and sororities. Nature lovers will appreciate the campus's access to the 200 acre Thoreau Wildlife Sanctuary. On the athletic front, the Defiance Yellow Jackets compete in the NCAA Division III Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Popular sports include football, lacrosse, soccer, softball, baseball, track and field, and swimming.
