Southern Wesleyan University Admissions Overview:

With an acceptance rate of 55%, Southern Wesleyan University is moderately accessible. Successful applicants generally have decent grades (in the "A" and "B" range) and an overall strong application. Southern Wesleyan University Description:

Founded in 1906, Southern Wesleyan University is a small, private, Christian university. The campus is located in the town of Central, South Carolina, just minutes from the Blue Ridge Mountains. Clemson University is ten minutes away, and the urban centers of Atlanta and Charlotte are each about a two-hour drive. The university takes its Christian identity seriously, and central to the school's mission and purpose is the belief that God is the source of all wisdom and truth. Students come from 27 states and 14 countries, and the school has three main student populations: traditional undergraduates, adult students in evening programs, and graduate master's degree students. Students can choose from 42 academic programs, and among undergraduates, business administration is by far the most popular major. The university recently added online programs in business and education. Academics are supported by a 14 to 1 student / faculty ratio, and an average class size of 17. Campus life includes weekly chapel services and 14 clubs and organizations. On the athletic front, the Southern Wesleyan Warriors compete in the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). The university fields eight men's and nine women's intercollegiate sports.
