Southern Polytechnic State University Description:

Southern Polytechnic State University, often referred to as Southern Poly or SPSU, was founded in 1948 as a two-year campus of Georgia Tech. Today the school is an autonomous public university that awards mostly bachelor's and master's degrees in a wide range of technological fields. The curriculum is career-based and grounded in application-oriented teaching. All faculty must have relevant work or research experience. SPSU is located 20 minutes from downtown Atlanta in Marietta, Georgia. Students come from 35 states and 82 countries. In athletics, the SPSU Hornets compete in the NAIA Southern States Athletic Conference.
