Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania Description:

Founded in 1871, Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania is a public, four-year university in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, about 40 miles from Harrisburg. Shippensburg University, or Ship, supports about 8,300 students with a student/faculty ratio of 19 to 1. The school offers a total of 75 undergraduate, 17 graduate, and 8 pre-professional programs across the College of Education and Human Services, College of Arts and Sciences, John L. Grove College of Business, and School of Graduate Studies. For a break from the books, Ship is home to over 100 student clubs and organizations including a league of Legends club, a Pokémon club, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, as well as 29 intramural sports. For intercollegiate athletics, Ship has 18 varsity teams and competes in the NCAA Division II Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) with sports including men’s wrestling, women’s lacrosse, and men’s and women’s swimming.
