Located just 14 miles from Manhattan, Seton Hall University offers students a park-like campus in Northern New Jersey with easy train access to the city. The university was founded by Bishop James Roosevelt Bayley in 1856 and has been true to its Catholic roots ever since. As a mid-sized university, Seton Hall provides a healthy balance of research and teaching. Undergraduates will find 60 programs from which to choose, a 14 to 1 student / faculty ratio, and an average class size of 25. All students receive a laptop computer. In athletics, Seton Hall competes in the NCAA Division I Big East Conference.
