SAT and ACT Scores and Requirements

Salve Regina University has a test-optional standardized testing policy. Applicants to Salve Regina may submit SAT or ACT scores to the school, but they are not required for most applicants. Note that applicants to school's nursing and education programs are required to submit standardized test scores, as are homeschooled students. Salve Regina does not report SAT or ACT scores for admitted students.

For students who choose to submit test scores, Salve Regina does not require the optional writing component of either the SAT or ACT. Note that for students submitting SAT scores, Salve Regina University participates in the scorechoice program, which means that the admissions office will consider your highest score from each individual section across all SAT test dates. For those submitting ACT scores, Salve Regina does not superscore ACT results; your highest composite ACT score will be considered.

GPA

In 2019, the average high school GPA of Salve Regina University's incoming freshmen class was 3.4. This data suggests that most successful applicants to Salve Regina University have primarily high B grades.

Admissions Chances

Salve Regina University, which accepts fewer than three-quarters of applicants, has a somewhat selective admissions process. However, Salve Regina also has a holistic admissions process and is test-optional, and admissions decisions are based on more than numbers. A strong application essay and glowing letters of recommendation can strengthen your application, as can participation in meaningful extracurricular activities and a rigorous course schedule. The college is looking for students who will contribute to the campus community in meaningful ways, not just students who show promise in the classroom. Students with particularly compelling stories or achievements can still receive serious consideration even if their grades and scores are outside Salve Regina's average range.

Note that the nursing program at Salve Regina is particularly selective. Successful applicants to the nursing program have standardized test scores and GPAs that are above the average range for the school.
