Saint Mary's College is a Catholic women's college located on a 98-acre campus in Notre Dame, Indiana. The University of Notre Dame is located across the street. Students come from 45 states and eight countries, and the college has an impressive 10 to 1 student / faculty ratio. The average class size is 15 students. Saint Mary's values experiential learning, and many students study abroad, conduct field work, or participate in internships. On the athletic front, the Saint Mary's Belles compete in the NCAA Division III Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Students can participate in intramural sports through both Saint Mary's and the University of Notre Dame.
