Founded in 1910, Rockhurst University is a comprehensive private Jesuit university located in Kansas City, Missouri. UMKC, the University of Missouri Kansas City, sits on the western edge of campus. Rockhurst values the interactions between faculty and students, an emphasis that is supported by the school's 12 to 1 student / faculty ratio and average class size of 24. Rockhurst also values community service, and upon graduation students receive a transcript for service activities as well as a more traditional academic transcript. The university offers over 50 degree programs with professional fields in business and nursing being the most popular among undergraduates.
