Rockford University Description:

Rockford University is a private liberal arts university with a practical, hands-on approach to learning. The attractive 130-acre campus is located in Rockford, Illinois; Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison are all within 90 minutes of campus. A little less than 90% of students come from Illinois. Students can choose from over 70 academic programs, and majors in business and elementary education are among the most popular. The university was awarded a chapter of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society for its strengths in the liberal arts and sciences. Academics are supported by an 11 to 1 student / faculty ratio, and classes are small. Rockford has 22 registered student clubs and organizations, and about 25% of students participate in intercollegiate athletics. Many of the school's teams compete in the NCAA Division III Northern Athletics Conference. The university fields nine men's and eight women's varsity teams.
