Randolph College Description:

Founded in 1891, Randolph College is a small private liberal arts college located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Liberty University is a twenty-minute drive away from Randolph's attractive 100-acre campus. Now co-educational, the college had been Randolph-Macon Woman's College until 2007. Students get a lot of personal attention at Randolph—the college has an impressive 9 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 12. Not surprisingly, the college ranks well in the National Survey of Student Engagement, and the school takes pride in the close relationships that develop between faculty, staff, and students. Randolph College also does well in national rankings for value, and nearly all students receive significant grant aid. Randolph has had a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa for nearly a century, a testimony to its strengths in the liberal arts and sciences, and the school is home to a total of 18 academic honor societies. Students can choose from 29 majors and 43 minors, and Randolph also offers several pre-professional programs in areas such as law, medicine, nursing, and veterinary studies. Student life is active on this residential campus with a wide range of clubs and organizations including WWRM Student Radio, Food and Justice Club, and numerous performing arts groups. On the athletic front, the Randolph Wildcats compete in the NCAA Division III Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). The university fields seven men's and nine women's intercollegiate sports.
