Portland State University Description:

Portland State University is public university located on a 49-acre campus in downtown Portland, Oregon. The school was established in 1946 to accommodate veterans returning from World War II, and it has since grown into a large master's and doctoral degree granting institution. At the undergraduate level, Portland State students can choose from 99 bachelor's degree programs. Popular majors span professional fields, the sciences, social sciences and humanities. The university has a 22 to 1 student / faculty ratio. In athletics, the Portland State Vikings compete in the NCAA Division I Big Sky Conference for most sports.
