Founded in 1835, Oglethorpe University is a small liberal arts college located on a 100-acre campus in Atlanta, Georgia. The campus features several buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, and it is home to the Georgia Shakespeare theatre company. Students come from 34 states and 36 countries. Undergraduates can choose from 28 bachelor's degree programs including several interdisciplinary programs and a self-designed major. High achieving students should look into the Oglethorpe Honors Program. In athletics, the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels compete in the NCAA Division III Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
