Established in 1891, North Greenville University (NGU) is a private Christian university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The university takes its Christian identity seriously and keeps its focus on the person and work of Jesus, and the Bible is the foundation of the curriculum. The university offers faith-based liberal arts courses and believes that faith and academic excellent go hand-in-hand. Among undergraduates, majors in business, education, and Christian studies are most popular. Academics are supported by a 15 to 1 student / faculty ratio. The campus is located in Tigerville, South Carolina, a small town situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains between Greenville and Asheville. In athletics, the NGU Crusaders compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association and the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas
