Montana Tech Admissions Overview:

With an acceptance rate of 89%, Montana Tech may appear to be a largely accessible school to interested students. That said, the school attracts strong applicants, and most who are admitted have grades and standardized test scores that are at least a little above average. Montana Tech has gone through significant changes since it first opened its doors in 1900 as the Montana State School of Mines. Today Montana Tech is made up of three colleges and one school. Since 1994, Montana Tech has been affiliated with the University of Montana. Undergraduates can choose from 9 associate's, 19 bachelor's, and 11 master's degree programs. Professional fields such as business, engineering, and nursing are among the most popular with undergraduates. Academics are supported by a 16 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 19. The college is located in Butte, Montana, midway between Glacier and Yellowstone Parks. Outdoor lovers will find many opportunities for hiking, skiing, fishing, and camping in the area. Student life is active with 38 clubs and organizations. On the athletic front, the Montana Tech Diggers compete in the NAIA Frontier Conference. Popular sports include football, volleyball, basketball, and golf.
