Mitchell College is a small, private liberal arts college located at the mouth of the Thames River in New London, Connecticut. The 68-acre residential campus sits along bluffs leading to the shores of the Long Island Sound and includes a small private beach for student use. Nearby cities include New York, Boston, Providence and Hartford, all within two hours of campus. The college has an average class size of 15 students and a student faculty ratio of 15 to 1. Mitchell offers nine undergraduate courses of study, with the majority of students enrolled in law and justice policy studies, liberal and professional studies, business, and sports management programs. Students are actively involved on campus with various leadership and citizenship activities, and the college has over 20 student clubs and organizations. The Mitchell Mariners compete in the NCAA Division III New England Collegiate Conference.
