Mississippi College Description:

Founded in 1826, Mississippi College has many distinctions: it is the oldest college in Mississippi, the largest private college in Mississippi, and the second oldest Baptist university in the United States. Students come from 40 states and 30 countries. The attractive 320-acre campus is located in Clinton, Mississippi, just a short drive from Jackson. Undergraduates can choose from 80 areas of study; professional fields such as business, education, nursing, and kinesiology are the most popular. Academics are supported by a 15 to 1 student / faculty ratio. The college frequently ranks well for its value and commitment to community service. Student life is active with over 40 organizations. Athletics are also popular with 12 intramural sports, 2 club sports, and 16 varsity sports (8 men's and 8 women's). The Mississippi College Choctaws compete in the NCAA Division III American Southwest Conference.
