Merchant Marine Academy Admissions Overview:

The USMMA is a selective school, with an acceptance rate of 20%. Students will need to be nominated for admittance, and will need to submit an application as well. Merchant Marine Academy Description:

The United States Merchant Marine Academy or USMMA is one of five undergraduate service academies in the country (along with AnnapolisWest Point, the United States Air Force Academy, and the Coast Guard Academy). The academy is located in Kings Point, New York, on the northern shore of Long Island. All students train in subject areas related to shipping and transportation. Students who attend USMMA have their room, board and tuition covered, but they will have at least a five year service requirement upon graduation. Applicants need a letter of nomination from a member of the U.S. Congress.
