McPherson College Description:

McPherson College is a small, private liberal arts college affiliated with the Church of the Brethren. Students come from 33 states and 6 foreign countries. The town of McPherson is also home to Central Christian College. Wichita is about an hour to the south, and Salina is about 40 minutes to the north. The college was founded in 1887 by leaders of the Church of the Brethren. Church values still shape the college today, but the school is open to students of any cultural and religious background. Students can choose from over 30 academic fields in both the liberal arts and professional areas, and all fields have a career orientation. Practical hands-on learning is valued, and the college offers many opportunities for students to gain experience through internships and other experienced-based opportunities. Business is most popular, and the school is the only one in the world to offer a four-year baccalaureate program in automotive restoration. Students also have the option of combining courses from different fields to construct an interdisciplinary major. On the financial aid front, nearly all McPherson students receive some form of grant aid. Student life is active with a range of clubs, organizations, and activities. In athletics, the McPherson Bulldogs compete in the NAIA Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. McPherson men and women each compete in seven intercollegiate sports.
