Founded in 1915, Marywood University is a selective Catholic university located on a 115-acre campus in a residential neighborhood of Scranton, Pennsylvania. The attractive campus is an officially recognized national arboretum. Another Catholic University -- the University of Scranton -- is two miles away. New York City and Philadelphia are each about two-and-a-half hours away. Marywood undergraduates can choose from over 60 academic programs ranging from the arts to professional fields. Academics are supported by a healthy 13 to 1 student / faculty ratio. Student life is active, and the university has over 60 registered student-run clubs and organizations. In athletics, the Marywood Pacers compete in the NCAA Division III Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC). The university fields nine men's and ten women's intercollegiate sports.
