Marietta College Description

Marietta College's roots date back to 1797 (as the Muskingum Academy), placing it among a handful of the oldest institutions in the U.S. Marietta is located in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Marietta values close relationships between students and faculty, something made possible because of the school's 9 to 1 student / faculty ratio and its average class size of 20. Undergraduates can choose from more than 40 majors and 85 student clubs and organizations. Pre-professional programs in business, advertising, education, and petroleum engineering are popular, but the school's strengths in the liberal arts and sciences earned it a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
