Founded in 1861, Luther College is a small liberal arts college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The school's 200-acre main campus is located in the small town of Decorah, Iowa, in the northeast corner of the state. The college emphasizes service, and over 80% of students study abroad. Luther college has a 12 to 1 student / faculty ratio, and its strong liberal arts and science programs earned it a chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. In athletics, the Luther Norse compete in the NCAA Division III Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
