University of Louisville Description:

With 13 schools and colleges, the University of Louisville's mission is to be Kentucky's "premier, nationally recognized metropolitan research university." The university's red brick main campus, located just three miles from downtown Louisville, features a planetarium, art gallery, field-house, and numerous stadiums. The university enrolls students from all 50 states and over 100 countries. In athletics, the Louisville Cardinals compete in the NCAA Division I Big East Conference. The men's and women's basketball teams have met with particular success. Track and field, volleyball, and baseball are also strong.
