Lincoln Memorial University is a private university located on a 1,000-acre campus in Harrogate, Tennessee. Outdoor lovers will find lots to do in the school's location in the Appalachian Mountains; the Cumberland Gap National Historic Park is nearby. Students can choose from over 30 majors, and professional fields such as business, nursing and education are among the most popular. The school has robust master's and certificate programs in education, and the university as a whole has a similar number of graduate and undergraduate students. Academics are supported by a 12 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 17. On the athletic front, the LMU Railsplitters' compete in the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Conference. The school fields six men's and eight women's intercollegiate sports. Popular sports include basketball, soccer, volleyball, and track and field.
